We are seeking a skilled and creative Vertical Video Editor to assist in the production of engaging YouTube Shorts and TikToks. The primary responsibility of this position will involve reviewing both newly captured footage and an extensive archive of existing YouTube content to identify humorous, surprising, memorable, or highly engaging moments that can be repurposed as standalone vertical videos. Key duties will include selecting compelling clips, crafting captivating introductions, adapting horizontal footage for vertical presentation, incorporating captions and visual accents, and editing each video to ensure a complete and entertaining experience for all viewers, regardless of their familiarity with the original content.

Skills and requirements
We are seeking a highly skilled editor with a keen sense of comedic timing and a deep understanding of internet and gaming culture. The ideal candidate will be able to identify moments with high potential for success as short-form content and work independently to review large volumes of material, recognizing opportunities for repurposing without requiring specific timestamps. Key responsibilities will include consistently identifying moments worthy of repurposing, learning and preserving an established creator's editing style, personality, and audience expectations, and creating high-quality, engaging content. To be considered for this role, applicants should have professional experience editing short-form content, such as YouTube Shorts, TikToks, or Reels, and a portfolio showcasing their editing abilities. They should be proficient in editing software, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve, and have a strong understanding of the elements that contribute to successful short-form content, including hooks, pacing, captions, comedic timing, sound design, and viewer retention. Additional requirements include experience reframing gameplay and face-camera footage for vertical platforms, familiarity with YouTube, gaming content, memes, trends, and internet culture, and the ability to create standalone vertical videos. The successful candidate will also be able to assist with long-form YouTube editing and sponsored content as needed, demonstrating reliability, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines and adapt to feedback efficiently.
