Looking for a fast-paced, highly communicative Video Editor for a growing YouTube pop culture and commentary channel (650k+ views this past year). You will be responsible for taking raw footage/voice tracks and turning them into engaging commentary videos. Our topics move fast (pop culture, internet drama, trending topics), so speed-to-market and a short turnaround time are crucial. Trim raw footage/A-roll, cutting dead air, repeats, or awkward pauses. Source and insert accurate visual overlays (tweets, pop-ups, screenshots, news clips, and contextual video footage) matching what is being spoken. Maintain tight pacing—especially in the first 5 minutes—using dynamic zooms, camera crops, and clean cuts to maximize retention. Deliver clean, polished edits without over-relying on basic memes, obnoxious sound effects, or heavy filters.

Skills and requirements
Job requirements and skills: Proven experience editing YouTube commentary, video essays, or pop culture content. High speed and ability to deliver finished drafts within 1-3 days of receiving raw footage. Strong understanding of internet culture, commentary timing, and retention strategy.
